Dawn Scarfe has recently been sleeping in the woods as 'Embedded' Artist in Residence with The Forestry Commission England and Sound and Music. Her work includes installation, performance and field recording, often employing fragile materials such as glass resonators and lenses. Recent exhibitions include Tuned City Brussles, Sound Art ZKM Karlsruhe, TONSPUR Vienna and ARTe SONoro Madrid.
Dawn Scarfe and Jiyeon Kim are working together in a month long collaborative residency at MoKS. During their residency at MoKS in rural Estonia, Jiyeon and Dawn have been exploring the autumnal wilderness together, sharing experiences of listening, recording and composing. The purpose of their collaboration is to learn from each other's personal responses to unfamiliar landscapes and atmospheres. They will present some of the sounds and images they have collected and shaped through this process at a number of events including:
