Jasmin Schaitl is a graduate of the University of Applied Arts in Vienna (2012). Since 2011, she works internationally as a solo-performer, visual artist, artistic director of group performances, leader of workshops and interdisciplinary projects, curator and teacher. Schaitl has participated in a range of projects in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Italy, Finland, Czechia, Poland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Mexico, South Korea, Brazil, the US, and the UK.

Active in a variety of media such as live-performance, sculpture, installation, multi-media, her  practice is building up on minimalism, reduction, precision and meditative working methods. In the foreground of her work she is seeking a balance between existing juxtapositions, such as presence – absence, beginning – end, duration – moment, lightness – heaviness. Schaitl is also interested in the notion of time in the context of its individual perception and the importance, development and analysis of memory in connection with the haptic sense (touch). Her work focusses on often underestimated and so called "unspectacular" aspects of life in the realm of our increasingly fast-paced environments.
