"I often start my work with loose personal associations. I collect images that attract me for different, undefined reasons. The starting point can be either visual or acoustical. Later, this subconcious process turns into a more deliberate way of working and I begin to reappraise what I had in mind and connect the former associations with a supporting picture / object / sound. The actors of my videos can be seen as placeholders for mental states, memories or emotions; they don't have any individual characteristics."
