Marit Mihklepp is researching how human daily processes are related to the other members of the surrounding environment (microorganisms, chairs, stones, country borders). Since the graduation from the ArtScience Interfaculty in The Hague she is working with moving bodies and imagination of the audience, using simple objects and instructions. Currently, Marit works and lives in The Hague, Netherlands.
“While in MoKS it has become clear that I do not want to domesticate the wild, but to start a conversation with the wilderness of the local companions (stones, trees, birds, light). In human weakness I desire to be outside, when I am inside and the other way around. It is almost impossible to listen to the forest within myself. Every day, I walk the same path, and discover some new ones. Walking is opening a space where instead of choosing and collecting I am looking for a self-gathering archive.
At the moment it seems, that for the METSIK there will be a congregation of tiny stones that jumped into my rubber boots, taste and time differences of May and July, and the action of walking itself.”
