Residency artists
Born in 1980, Razielle Aigen is a Montreal-based writer and visual artist. Her aesthetic draws on the beauty of natural organisms, through which she explores themes of structure and formlessness, alongside the complexity of personal vs. interpersonal identity formation in the advent of infinite access to unlimited information. She has published poems and essays in both print and online publications, and continues to show her text-base installations, painting, drawing and photography on an ongoing basis. In a convergence of multiple mediums, she seeks to create with an all-inclusive, expansive poetics in mind.
Razielle holds a B.A. in History and Contemporary Studies from Dalhousie/King’s University in Halifax, and is a recent alumna of The Writer’s Studio at Simon Fraser University. She is currently studying Bioethics at Université de Montréal.
